MARZIPAN BAR

The raw marzipan sweetened with agave sirup

The tantras view the human body as sacred, as a temple of divine beings. Present the best food you can imagine to this body mandala of yourself and others. It is inhabited by gods and goddesses living there as in a heavenly realm, in forms made of subtle light and vibration. Turn your every movement into a pleasing dance, every calm breath a silent gift, every thought an act of kindness and well-wishing for everyone. Now take the finest, cleanest ingredients you have. Touch them and sense their vibrancy and qualities with your fingertips. Appreciate this chance. Let’s celebrate with homemade marzipan bar.

350 gram organic almonds
5 tablespoon organic agave sirup
2 tablespoon cacao butter
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder

Peel the skin of the almonds and blend with sirup until it is smooth as caramel and cohesive. Wrap the marzipan in organic baking paper and let it rest in the fridge for 1 – 2 hours. Cut it into smaller bars. Cover it with raw chocolate coating made of half melted cacao butter and half raw cacao powder.

In the words of nutritionist and food historian Sally Fallon Morell, “Food preparation is a sacred activity. If you could see the sparks of light going forth from the fingertips when cooking, and the energy that goes into the food you handle, you would realize how much of you imbues into the meals that you prepare for family and friends.”
