Here is an open letter from Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, with a video about the recent earthquake in Nepal, the impact it had on the big white monastery in Boudha, the relief work, and the efforts to restore and rebuild this sanctuary of endless wisdom and compassion.
I lived in this monastery for more than 30 years. As just one person of many thousands who have benefited tremendously from its presence, since it was here we met Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and a hundred other wonderful teachers. It was here we received so much precious teachings and guidance. I therefore request all of you to share this video and consider participating in the rebuilding of the monastery.
Dear friends and sangha members.
I would like to share with you a documentary on the impact of the recent earthquakes on Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling monastery and Nagi Gompa. These monasteries have served thousands of local and international students of all types over many decades. The video also shows the efforts of our monks to help those most in need in the hardest hit areas of Nepal.
I find this movie deeply moving. It was shot in the immediate aftermath of the quakes by a handful of my close students. Please watch it all the way through and share it widely with your friends, family and contacts.
As we look to rebuild, we would like as many people as possible to connect with this project which is most dear to my heart, whether by sending your good wishes or taking part in the ‘Pledge to Rebuild’ campaign outlined in the video. Please consider joining.
