MY INVISIBLE THOUGHTS

Nothing confirms to it’s existence, For where does it go in silence, My thoughts, my invisible thoughts, To give it existence so hard I fought. Not in my eyes or ears, Yet I was scared believing in fears; My thoughts, my invisible thoughts, As if visible so hard I fought.

ABYSS OF PURITY

Each and every look, word and touch, every episode and even a seeming burden or conflict makes perfect sense, is the starting point, a precious opportunity to practice profoundly and sincerely what we least think we can.

THE PHOENIX

A little later, I put on a pair of gardening trousers, to lift potatoes I have grown, I would normally wear a dress or skirt. I see smoke coming from the croft, and run towards it, and call for Neil, my partner. The croft is becoming ablase with fire, and cannot be entered.

MY GURUJI

My music teacher often has a light, happy mind. At the same time, he is very serious with his music. He doesn’t sleep very much, only 4 or 5 hours at night. Normally this is something that happens to experienced meditators, but in this case, I believe his music has that same effect.

TADASANA, THE MOUNTAIN POSE

She was small, you might say she looked somewhat forelorn. Yet her naked feet with their wide-spread toes, lightly gripped the soil beneath them. She stood with light balance, there was strength, dignity in her pose.

PEACE OF MIND

We can test this out at our own pace, that lowering defenses opens up to acknowledging the deeper and more basic strength of this insight: that spaciousness cannot be hurt.

THE VEIL

The Veil, a short poem by the philosopher and writer Jacek Dziubinski. A poem that gives a lot of room for reflection and afterthoughts.

SURRENDERING PERSONAL TERRITORY

There is a point in meditation training, after having developed a sense of calm and being able to remain consciously present, where the need of yielding personal territory is unavoidable, inescapable.

A GATEWAY TO SHAMBHALA PART III

The stories and legends presented in the Shambhala tradition are not myths as such since we only refer to such material as myth when they no longer have any accepted credence. Rather, the stories of the four ancestral sovereigns are closer to the epic tradition.

SACRED TEXTS AS A SPIRITUAL TEACHER

It’s pure magic how ink on paper can touch you deeply and resonate with a sound so clear and true that the realization of its meaning comes alive and is part of your own being. This is possible because we all share the same nature of mind.

ALIVE

“Put your hands up and be prepared to die!” Rang over the speaker of the Boeing VC10 Plane from Bombay to London via Beirut. The plane was being hijacked by two Palestinians whom had taken over the plane. It was March 3th 1974.

MEDITATION IN MOVEMENT

Even though this silent, upright, wakeful way of holding the body is wonderful and helpful in meditation, meditation itself is not ultimately limited to any particular posture. In fact, it is not even necessarily still. Meditation can also be dynamic.

SPACE

Space is the most powerful metaphor for consciousness, it’s the fifth elements that accommodates everything. All there ever was and will be is thanks to space. Nothing can move without space, nothing exists outside of space. Within space all worlds and events arise and cease.

CALL IT BEAUTY

Beauty just is, She was not, nor will be, Beauty is bliss, Lost in freedom for she is naturally free. Beauty is a kiss, Where you and me disappear into we.

FREEING LIVES

A person with a open mind and noble heart respects everyone, animals too. Not only by refraining from causing harm but rescuing those in danger and saving their lives, setting them free. Such person is universal hero.

MINDFULNESS MATTERS

Take the breath as an example of daily awareness. We breathe all day long without hardly ever noticing. Unless we are being physically active or if our body is under stress we rarely recognize the breath. Mindfulness is the practice of bringing our awareness to the present moment intentionally and without judgment.

THE DIAMOND THRONE OF INDIA

This is also the place where you cannot avoid meeting a Buddhist teacher or a master, one after the other. Some masters with famous names and easy to recognize, some are hidden yogis and some simple meditators on the verge of realization, perhaps looking like a poor beggar.

A GATEWAY TO SHAMBHALA PART II

We extend our sympathies far beyond the constraints of our time and place and individuality. Out of solitude and love, the deep bond of our sheer humanness brings us worlds.
